Call me silly, but I have absolutely no good reason to get up early this morning and I did anyway. I could have slept until 10:00 am but knowing that this is Christmas still gets me giddy and excited, even with no little kids around. I woke up and my first thought was, “It’s Christmas!” and I walked out to look at my beautiful Christmas tree and it just made me get shivers. I love this time of year.
Merry Christmas – I hope Santa was good to you last night!
So the holidays are here and I need Christmas shit for my house. Yes people, that is what I said, for my house ! I am decorating for the first time ever. I think I will get a little pre-lit tree that is not a lot of fuss. I do have to get the ornaments and the star for the top. I wonder if I should go with a theme. they have some interesting ones, but that might look like I am trying to be hoity toity. I don’t care really what anyone thinks so long as I like what I buy.
My favorite color is purple and they have a purple motif for the tree decorations. I think I just might try that one. I am buying a front door ribbon that has bells and when you push the button it plays Jingle Bells and other Christmas Carols. Now the real decisions lie on what to get for the front yard. do I go for elegant or cute? Maybe I should take a drive around the neighborhood and see what the neighbors have before I decide on the outdoor. I would rather try to be a little bit original when it come to that part.
This time of year I spend a good amount of time sending out birthday cards. There a tons of friends and family members that were born in September & October. Each March & April I go through the same thing, funny how things end up like this.
One good thing is that I get them all done and over with twice a month and don’t have to worry about keeping up with them all, all year round. I come from a large family and this becomes a pretty challenging undertaking each and every year.
It’s bad enough all the Christmas cards that I have to send out each and every year. The time and cost involved in that is becoming a big issue, this year I am cutting back big time on my Christmas card list and turning to e-cards more and more.
