Something is wrong with the rear tire on the passenger side. Thank god I see that side of the car before climbing into the drivers seat and heading out. The tire was almost flat this morning and I had to drive down to the gas station to use their air station before I got on the highway.
I looked all over for a nail or screw in the tire and can’t find anything, but there must be something wrong for the tire to go so flat in just a day or two. The tread is not all that bad, but now that I’m looking at tires, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to get a new set put on and then I won’t have to worry about slow leaks or uneven wear.
Almost all the tires stores advertise that if you buy three tires then you get the fourth tire for free. I think we have all come to expect that sale promotion as normal daily business. I have to check around and see if Firestone or NTW has the best deal this weekend. I might be able to put it off an extra week for the sake of catching a sale – depending upon whether that rear tire holds air long enough or not.
The closest place to my house get a sub for lunch is Subway. There are actually three of them within 2 miles of my house, and I go to the newest one most of the time. But if I go just another miles or two the options really open up. There is a Jersey Mikes in the shopping center where the Kroger grocery store is located. And just past there is a Firehouse Subs. And practically next door to the Firehouse subs is a new place called Penn Station Subs.
I have tried all of the sub places and the really funny thing is that I would much rather have a Quiznos sub than any of them. But there is not Quiznos anywhere near my house. The closest one I can think of is about 25 miles away, with traffic that means a 40 minute drive. Fuck that kind of a drive for a sub. But if I ever have a reason to be in that part of town during lunch time, I try to go to that Quiznos and get a sub there.
Since I don’t usually go all out and head to that Quiznos, I think I would pick the Penn Station subs as my favorite from the closer ones. Their bread is a soft and chewy beard with a thin crispy crust. They put plenty of meat of the sandwich and the rest of the fixings and condiments are great. That’s my plan for today – Penn Station Subs.
When we have Mondays off for a holiday, it really fucks up my entire sense of what day it it and how my week is going to flow. We had Monday off for Labor Day – which was nice, especially since I got a paid holiday. It sucks to have the place you work closed for a holiday and it means you just don’t get paid that day. You paycheck being short a full day’s pay can really suck ass. At least my job was both closed and they paid me.
But today feels like Tuesday. I had to work extra hard yesterday to try to get caught up on an extra day’s work. So I’m tired from partying my ass off on a long weekend, working extra hard yesterday, and now today is Wednesday but it feels like Tuesday. So forgive me for having a bad attitude. I will get adjusted by Friday, I promise.
